Ted Gibson, celeb hairstylist and also part of the What Not to Wear team knows a thing or two about giving us fabulous, easy hairstyles for spring. At several of the SS 2010 fashion shows, Gibson did a ponytail. If you’re thinking of the same ponytail you rocked in grade school, think again. This one is just as easy to pull off, but packs loads of texture into the “tail” part of the hairstyle, giving it a grown-up feel.

Take the Prada pigtails, for example. The key to keeping this hair looking cool versus juvenile is the loads of texture the hair has, plus the dramatic deep side part. This hairstyle is perfect to try when you naturally dry hair (hello, vacation hairstyle!) or when hair is dirty. Create a deep side part and use a texturizing spray to add oomph to hair. Tease hair gently at the roots, and gather hair in two loose ponytails at the nape of the neck. While I’m not one to usually mimic a beauty trend from the runway, the bright poppy lip paired with this hairstyle is one I’ll definitely rock for spring.
