Doesn’t it seem like movies used to just have one premiere? The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has had like a billion premieres so far, but it’s been interesting to see how the red carpet fashion varies by city. Yesterday’s Los Angeles red carpet rundown showed lots of sheers and sexiness. But today we have The Hunger Games: Catching Fire New York premiere, where the dress code was much more casual.
Meta Golding‘s makeup looked excellent, and we like the intentionally messy hair. (Very New York appropriate.) The shoes make us think of bird poop, but otherwise the outfit is flattering and inoffensive.
Chrissy Teigen has way too much going on. Between the leopard coat, the statement shoes, the shiny pants with their baggy thighs, and the sheer paneling on the shirt, this is just crazy. Did she tear her pants at the knee, or is that a design element?
Sam Claflin wore a velvet blazer, which we have not seen in the wild since 2006.
Liam Hemsworth is just handsoming around in his handsome blue Dior Homme suit that makes his eyes pop. He looks like he could Hulk out of that suit in 10 seconds if he wanted to. We would pay good money to see that.
Football player Victor Cruz is not in The Hunger Games, but we love the colors and textures this man is pulling together in this suit.
Now lets see what Jena Malone, Elizabeth Banks, and Jennifer Lawrence wore …
Jena Malone‘s Valentino dress is weird, but we like it. The silhouette is giving us a serious Wednesday Addams vibe, and that bluey gray is excellent on her.
Check out the crazy wing on that eyeliner. Awesome.
Elizabeth Banks has been rocking the Hunger Games red carpets with a series of glamorous and really colorful gowns, but this time she went in a completely different direction and wore embellished trousers with a matching bustier by Jenny Packham. There’s also a peplum, but we can forgive that. We love the way the pants move when she walks, and that she picked something so different this time.
Her makeup was gorgeous and she wisely avoided all the jewelry that would have taken this look way into overkill.
Jennifer Lawrence wore Dior, of course, but this time she picked a look from the 2014 resort collection. The dress looks like a tuxedo jacket, and we’re digging the peaked lapels. This is cute, and that lime green color is great on her.
