As much as we are eager to see Vampire Academy and enjoy seeing young movie stars stretch their fashion legs, this is one red carpet guaranteed to make you feel really, really old. Some of the actresses are certainly out past their bedtime, and we’re pretty sure they had an armed escort to keep out anyone over the age of 27. With a young red carpet comes some pretty cute dresses in a rainbow of colors, so it makes for some excellent fashion eye candy.
Check out what Sarah Hyland, Zoey Deutch, Olga Kurylenko, and the other young starlets wore …
Olga Kurylenko looks awesome in this insanely difficult to wear color. That must be one of the many benefits of naturally being unspeakably beautiful.
Katharine McNamara proves redheads can wear red, but otherwise the soggy draping and half-assed asymmetrical hem on this dress do nothing for us. The rose-print shoes are perplexing. We’re going to have to ponder them and write a think piece later.
Sabrina Carpenter looks adorbs, and this is pretty much all we wanted to wear when we were 14, so props to her for living the dream.
Sami Gayle‘s hair and dress are fantastic, but her eye makeup is a bit over the top.
She barely made it off the red carpet before Katy Perry tackled her for these shoes.
Bella Thorne has the best hair in the world, but she doesn’t benefit a lot from the full red carpet glamour treatment. We never thought we’d say this, but Bella Thorne might be the one celebrity who actually looks best in her Coachella gear. The dress is by AQ/AQ, though Thorne wore her straps differently.
There are a disproportionate number of redheads on this red carpet, aren’t there? Debby Ryan‘s side-swept hair looks cute, and we actually dig this whole look, including the day-glo shoes.
When we saw Debby Ryan’s starburst earrings, someone said, “It’s showtime, Synergy!”
Then we realized Debby Ryan is too young to get that reference, and we were sad.
Everyone was born in the 90s.
Read on for Zoey Deutch, Sarah Hyland, Holland Roden and more.
Hey look, a grownup! Joely Richardson looks surprisingly great in this capri jumpsuit. We don’t know how she’s working it, but she is. And her hair and makeup are flawless.
Just look at that face.
Holland Roden is taking a turn for the fashiony, and we kind of like it. Her makeup and topknot are cool, and the colors of this Elena Reva outfit work well on her.
Lucy Fry looks like she is falling out of her shoes. We normally don’t hate pleats or lame or weird shoulder armor, but this feels like a miss. The fabric change over the bust feels weird, and the plain satin just blends in too perfectly with her skin tone. The shoulder armor looks too furry, as though she were in the process of turning into a werewolf when this picture was taken.
Peyton List emerged from The Matrix for this red carpet. The bold lip is pretty cool, but the heavy, light foundation is reminding us why we all stopped doing that in the 90s.
Zoey Deutch is the star, so she gets to wear a fancy princess dress. If we forget the shoes exist, this is fabulous.
That is one complicated fancy braid.
Sarah Hyland got to wear a fun red dress in keeping with the vampire theme. We don’t love the weird labial draping in the front, and the bust darts are causing the phantom nipple effect that plagued Anne Hathaway at the Oscars a couple years ago. But we’re a sucker for a full skirt and a well fitted, strapless bodice.
