It’s time to play good news/bad news! WWD brings word this morning that Versace‘s collection for H&M was such a slam dunk, Donatella Versace has already prepared a second collection. So there’s still hope, if you don’t get your mitts on metallic micro-minis this time around:
Donatella Versace has designed a spring pre-collection for the Swedish retailer that is due to go on sale online on Jan. 19 in countries where H&M operates an e-commerce site, a spokeswoman for the company said Tuesday, confirming a report in the U.K. tabloid Mirror.
These include the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
Notice how “United States” is missing? It’s because H&M has been promising that US e-commerce store for a while now and it still hasn’t happened. Which means: don’t get your hopes up. Even if we’re magically gifted with an online H&M store stateside before the second Versace collection, we learned from the Missoni for Target debacle that trying to beat the crowds online can be an even bigger world of pain.
