For their first big holiday commercial this year, New York department store Bergdorf Goodman teamed up with The Humane Society to make a commercial with a message. In addition to wanting you to buy the expensive shit they sell, Bergdorf wants you to adopt a dog, so as to warm your cold, miserly heart. I mean, just look at what it did for Chuck Bass.
In this uber-cute clip, a bunch of wealthy New York dogs are set loose in the store by their dog nanny to pick out presents for their owners, but one poor little stray has no owner to shop for. And also no money, I presume. (How do the other dogs have money?) Luckily, a kind hearted security guard takes pity on the pup and brings him home for the holidays, making for a happy (or tearjerking, if you are me) ending.
But not all dogs are so lucky; many unwanted animals are euthanized each day. If you think you’re ready to adopt a furry pal, the commercial exhorts you to visit humanesocietyny.org to learn about adoption and pet ownership. Or just go to their national site, if you’re not in New York. Happy dog shopping!
