Most people who want to use fashion to express their religion choose obvious things like jewelry or T-shirts. But Shannon Hayes of Tampa, Florida decided that she wanted to express her Christian faith on her shoes, so she created her own line of flip-flops with Scripture verses printed on them. There are five possible Bible verses to choose from, including “I am the light of the world” and “If we live in the spirit, let us also walk in the spirit.”

Hayes told the Sun-Sentinel that “As Christians, my belief is that the word [the Bible] is our road map for life. It’s supposed to put us in the right direction. The flip-flips [sic] come with a subtle message to keep on track and keep God first. In this day and age, anything helps.” I get where she’s going with this, but since the verses are printed on the top of the flip-flops, your feet are basically covering them all day. If you want other people to see them and know how godly you are, you might want to leave them lying around somewhere.

Oh, and apparently Jesus is not down with half-sizes, as the flip-flops are currently only available in whole sizes.
