First of all, let me just say I was surprised to learn that Gossip Girl is still on? I mean, I guess Anna Wintour needs a platform for Blake Lively or else she’d have to rely on Green Lantern as proof of relevance. And I guess Taylor Momsen needs something to come back to when she’s done hating her parents with guitars? …But still, I thought that shit had gone the way of The OC.
Anyway, turns out Gossip Girl does exist and not only that, but Warner Brothers thinks there’s still more milking to be done with the franchise. According to WWD:
Los Angeles-based contemporary label Romeo & Juliet Couture has partnered with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Warner Bros. Television Group, which produces the CW show, to produce a collection that will premiere at Coterie on Sunday and sell at Kitson, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue for fall, just in time for the series’ season five premiere on Sept. 26.
Prices range from $80 to $200 retail, pieces include “embellished tops, bottoms, novelty sweaters, outerwear and draped chiffon dresses with touches of leather, pleats and prints,” all of which are inspired by the fashions of its two female leads, Blair and Serena.
