In this day and age, models are taking up the spotlight as often as, if not more often than, your average, run-of-the-mill celebrity. Their faces are on billboards and star in music videos, and they even launch their own movie careers (here’s looking at you, Cara Delevingne, and your, ahem, interesting American accent). So, when a new model hits the runway, it only seems like a matter of time before they end up blowing up, and it’s always fun to see a young model rise to superstardom. But now, we’re taking “young” to a whole new level: Hudson Kroenig is Chanel‘s newest male model, and he’s all of seven years old.

At the tender age of probably-barely-old-enough-to-ride-the-big-kid-roller-coaster, Hudson already has his own Vanity Fair profile, and it’s just about the best thing you’ll ever read, mostly because of the self-description he offers:

“My hair is blond. My eyes are brown. My skin is a little beige-ish, a little gold-ish. I wear a size-1 shoe. I am 49 inches. I have big pecs, and I’m lean like Daddy.”

I’m just aww-ing all over the place, y’all. Don’t even bother to clean it up, because this’ll probably go on all day.

Since Hudson’s career is taking off at the same age where most of us were just worried about transitioning from Velcro to lace-up sneakers, it’s only fair that he should have a profile of his own here at The Gloss, or, at the very least, his own need-to-know post. Here are 6 things you need to know about the world’s most precious model of the moment:

1. He’s got famous parents.

His father is Brad Kroenig, a fashion model who, according to Vanity Fair, “has enjoyed a thriving career of unusual longevity” and has worked extensively with Karl Lagerfeld for both Chanel and Fendi, and his mother, Nicole, is the daughter of Nick Bollettieri, the famous tennis coach who has with with the likes of Andre Agassi and Venus and Serena Williams. Basically, he was destined for stardom from Day One.

2. Karl Lagerfeld is his godfather.

Remember that time I mentioned his father was super involved with Karl Lagerfeld and his various fashion houses? Well, that made for a pretty fabulous godfather selection. Can you even imagine the Christmas presents this kid gets?

3. He’s been modeling since he was two years old.

His first show was for Chanel in Paris (of course) in Spring 2011 for the ready-to-wear collection. He wore the cutest, tiniest little Chanel three-button suit and walked the runway with his father. Meanwhile, when I was two, I’m relatively certain I only walked around when absolutely necessary and spent most of my days sitting on the floor like a blobby, baby Jabba the Hutt. You’re welcome for the visual.

4. He’s from Wyckoff, NJ, where he goes to school like a normal kid.

Not for nothing, and I’m honestly disappointed in myself for ever remembering this fun fact, but that’s where the Jonas Brothers are from, too. Must be something in the water, I suppose.

5. Cara Delevingne is his favorite model.

Because of course and aww and of course.

6. He’s basically a Lagerfeld-in-training.

As evidence by his explanation of his casual weekend fashion shows:

“I put on clothes from Chanel. And I dress up my brother, Jameson. I choose his clothes, and I do his hair. We change upstairs and then we come back downstairs for the show. Mom and Dad wait in the living room on the couch. We start out in the bathroom, walk around the living room, and go back upstairs, and I choose new outfits.”

I mean, my dress-up box had a lot less Chanel in it, but really: Stars, they’re just like us.

So, there you have it. Chanel’s newest prodigy, following the long line of spokespeople such as Kristen StewartNicole KidmanKeira Knightley, and Marilyn Monroe. Don’t be surprised when you see his face on the cover of Vogue.
