That’s a wooden tie you’re looking at. They’re made by Wood Thumb, a Bay Area startup that salvages wood and makes it into ties. So says the online store:
Each tie is made from a unique piece of reclaimed wood. Colors, knots, nail holes and grain patterns will vary. Lightweight and flexible, each tie is held together by an elastic cord that runs lengthwise through the tie and around your shirt collar. Cords can be adjusted to suit your preference in length.
We’re far more annoyed by the gold ties.
Bonus: looks they could double as incense holders in a pinch.
