It’ll make you skinny, maybe. But on the downside, you’ll be injecting urine into your body. Specifically, urine from pregnant women. Supposedly the human coriogonic gotrophin hormone in the urine will boost your metabolism. One Boston woman said it made her lose 43 pounds and that “the proof is in the pudding!”
Except that she was also on a calorie restricted diet. “The HCG doesn’t have anything to do with the weight loss,” says Dr. Barry Ramos, a cardiologist. “The fact is if you go on a 500 calorie-a-day diet, you lose weight. The bottom line is, it’s potentially dangerous because you don’t know what you’re injecting in your body. The best way to lose weight is diet and exercise,” he said.
We guess if you really hate diet and exercise you could try it. The urine program costs between $300 and $565 for six weeks. Let us know how it works out for you (but know that we’ll be staring at you in horror).
