Channeling Sharon Stone at the 1998 Oscars, Michelle Obama appeared on the “Today Show” this morning wearing a dress from H&M that sells for $34.95. According to the Washington Post, she chose to forego the sash that comes with the dress, but opted instead for a different red belt.

I often waffle between loving H&M, buying their clothes and then realizing that their clothes generally have a shelf life of only about six months, after which they fall completely out of style. I assume that Michelle Obama will only wear this dress once anyway, but still, it’s enough to reinforce that if it’s good enough for American royalty, it’s good enough for the rest of us.
