These days when a celebrity gets married, it is usually preceded by a long engagement, several magazine profiles, and much dress speculation. Announcing the news after the fact with a random Tweet is almost unheard of, but according to Us Weekly, that’s exactly what Mean Girls actress Lacey Chabert did this weekend.

giphy“I’m starting off 2014 as a Mrs!” she announced. “Over the holidays, my best friend & love of my life … we became husband & Wife! #soblessed #love”

giphy-3 Kayley Cuoco famously wore a bright pink wedding dress when she got married on New Year’s Eve.

giphy-2 But Lacey Chabert posted a photo of herself in what appears to be a white wedding dress with a sweetheart neckline and a mermaid silhouette, but it seems like that may have just been for the reception, because at one point she told a Twitter fan that she would post a picture of her “actual ceremony dress” later.

giphy-5 “Happy day!” she tweeted. “Photo by my friend Steve Blum and his camera phone :)”

For a moment we were surprised, because we know Steve Blum as the voice of Spike in Cowboy Bebop (among many other things). Mean Girls and Cowboy Bebop don’t  normally overlap in our consciousness. But then we remembered that Lacey Chabert does a whole lot of voice acting work, and the world once again makes sense.

giphy-1Of course, a lot of people have been trying to make Mean Girls quotes happen, like pointing out that Lacey Chabert’s hair is so big because it’s full of secrets. Referential humor is so fetch. giphy-4

“I love you guys. You never disappoint with finding a way to make Mean Girls quotes work for every single occasion. So funny,” Chabert Tweeted.

Little does Chabert know that Mean Girls quotes are a required field of study at any reputable journalism school. That’s just, like, the rules of journalism.
