Missing U from Brooke Wagstaff on Vimeo.

Now at The Gloss, we’re compiling a list of our favorite Internet videos each day, to distract you for a few minutes in the afternoon. Enjoy!

The Gloss Top Video Pick:

1. “Missing U” Is Amazing

If you’re sick of trudging through all the content on YouTube to find cool videos, my insider tip is that the Vimeo Staff picks showcase some of coolest stuff on the Internet right now. Take this short from Brooke Wagstaff. It’s got amazing animation, poetry and a concept that manages to both play to my love of letters AND my love of love. Seriously, if you take a quick mid-week break and watch, I really don’t think you’ll be sorry. You can learn more about it at the short’s website. (via Vimeo)

2. Language May Be Safe For Cable, But NSFW

Confession: I LOVE expletives, and hence, I love cable. Stephen Colbert was joined by Hugh Laurie to really stick it to the broadcast networks by sharing the pushing-the-envelope terms that Colbert insists Viacom has deemed approved to say on their cable air. It was probably an interesting meeting to be in when that list was made. (via Crushable)

3. Just Bust A Move

I feel like these mash-ups of people “singing” songs is getting old, but listening to Brian Williams “rap” different songs on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon just isn’t getting old for me. Honestly, considering how much I love “Bust A Move,” they might actually be getting better with age.

4. So Unsafe

It’s Geek Week on YouTube, so there’s a whole bunch of new, themed content being turned out. One of my favorite finds so far is this Barely Political sketch that manages to poke fun at the overwhelming presence of YouTube in our lives (you know, like this post). While it’s a funny spoof, I think it would be even better if they had their “Kristen Stewart” promoting the car.

5. Happy (Middle Of) Shark Week!

Have you heard about Shark Cat? He rides a Roomba around and wears a shark hoodie. A new video of him as resurfaced because it’s Shark Week and I thought this would be a fun way to celebrate the halfway point. However, that new video didn’t compare to my favorite Shark Cat video which I am sharing now above. I am obsessed. (via GUrl)
