Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, arrived in the Galapagos Islands on March 16, 2009.

The visit to the nature reserve is at the tail end of a South American tour which included Chile, Brazil and Ecuador. Prince Charles and Camilla had a visit with the giant turtles in the Charles Darwin Research Station on the island of Santa Cruz. Some of the other animals that live on the island are the land iguana and Darwin’s finches.
