Denmark’s Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary graced the red carpet of the European Film Awards 2008 in Copenhagen on Saturday, December 6, 2008.

Prince Frederik, who had just returned from a secret trip to Afghanistan, was immaculate in a black tuxedo. Princess Mary cut a graceful figure in a black full-length sleeveless gown with a beaded top. Her bouquet of lavender and purple flowers provided a pop of color.

Denmark’s Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen, and Britain’s Dame Judi Dench were also among the guests. Dench received the Lifetime Achievement Award during the ceremony. “Gomorra” by Italian director Matteo Garrone won for best film and best director. Toni Servillo best actor for “Gomorra”, while Kristin Scott Thomas won best actress for “I’ve Loved You So Long”.
