Well, you’ve made it through Valentine’s Day. Cool. But now it’s time to talk about Valentine’s Day’s less popular cousin, Presidents Day. Presidents Day may lack the sexiness and glamour of Valentine’s Day, but as Mari points out, holidays are better when you actually get to skip work. Now that I think about it, though, I’m surprised we don’t get off work on Valentine’s Day. Then we could do this all day!

Really Presidents Day seems fairly arbitrary to me. Why celebrate presidents in February, merely because Washington and Lincoln were both born this month? A quick internet search just told me six different presidents were born in October, including Teddy Roosevelt and John Adams. I guess I really shouldn’t complain, though. Of all the greatly commercialized holidays of America, at least Presidents Day focuses on sales. Just like George Washington would have wanted.

Anyway, watch what Mari has to say about it all below, and if you love The Gloss (you know you do) show us some affection and subscribe to our YouTube channel.

Tune in next Friday for another episode of Upfront With Mari.
