After experiencing some backlash, Perez Hilton recently made a video to apologize for an offensive t-shirt design. The shirt read “Nothing Tastes as Good as Skinny Feels.” Unaware of its association to eating disorders, Perez thought the slogan was “funny and fun.” Perez says:

I thought it would be inspiring for me in a healthy way, because I didn’t know it had these negative connotations to it. I got a lot of negative feedback to it, and normally I don’t give a shit what people say, but I did not know about the anorexia thing and I did not want to encourage anyone to possibly be anorexic or profit from something that is associated with that.

Once informed of the phrase’s context, Perez stopped production of the shirts.

Kudos to Perez for his gracious public apology. It takes a lot of balls to step up and take the heat.
