Fuck gun laws. Let's rid the world of women who "might" be prostitutes.

Fuck gun laws. Let’s rid the world of women who “might” be prostitutes.

Despite the fact that the world has greater issues that need to be remedied, that doesn’t seem to be a top priority for the assholes behind Potential Prostitutes. It doesn’t matter that we have gun law problems, civil rights being threatened or murderers wandering the streets looking to take down anything with a pulse, the true crime is acting like a prostitute, or at least enough so that someone will submit your name and phone number to the site.

Before you totally breathe out “what the fucking fuck,” yet again today, let’s look at two important pieces of information from one of the stupidest, sexist, misogynist, judgemental sites in the history of the world.

1. How they work:

Currently we operate based on the efforts from motivated members of their local community who have at one point or another come into contact with a potential prostitute online and feel they can be a threat. All of our offenders have been reported by local members who feel these offenders should be taught a lesson before their actions escalate.

2. Their mission:

We’ve been saying it for a long time and proving it even longer, our operations are professional, effective and one of a kind. Thanks to our brave visitors for stepping forward to tell the world what it should already know, that exposing online prostitute discourages other potential offenders from doing the very same thing.

It doesn’t take much to read between the lines on this one: basically, any woman can be accused of being a prostitute. Yes, now ask it: “what the fucking fuck?”

According to Boing Boing:

Though it solicits material it knows could be libelous or defamatory, it says it has no obligation to remove claims, even when they are proven to be false. It even reports that it’s been sued — and that it has won every case.

Yeah, right.

The site, which was registered in October 2012 and, to no surprise to this blogger is linked to a P.O. Box in Stockholm, Sweden, already has close to 10,000 followers on Twitter and even more “likes” on Facebook. But despite all this “evidence,” it’s pretty damn shady.

No one has yet to come forward to claim responsibility for the site, and once one of your friendly neighbors has submitted your information and your “potential” prostitute ways have been catalogued in their database, it takes a small fortune to have it removed. It seems to be less about “saving” the world from sex workers and more about extorting money from the falsely accused. There’s even the possibility that all those “submissions” on the site could, in themselves, be fraudulent. However, with no one coming forward and how new the site is, it’s hard to tell what the hell is going on here.

Either way, it’s disgusting, degrading and just another platform for scorned people to try to defame the innocent. And if someone is a prostitute, who cares? Live and let live, darlings — and don’t use extortion sites as a means for revenge. You guys are far more creative than that.
