So, there’s probably about a 99% chance that this video of a woman claiming to be looking for love on eHarmony is a joke. But dude, it’s a fucking funny joke.
In the following clip, we find Debbie, a recent Villanova MBA grad. She starts off appearing completely normal, if a little squeaky-pitched. She talks about how she’s new to online dating, and it’s her first time making a video for the site. Adorbs, right?
But then, she starts talking about cats, and she completely loses her shit. “Sorry, I’m getting emotional,” she says as she begins to cry.
“I love cats,” she says. “I love every kind of cat, I want to hug all of them but I can’t ’cause that’s crazy, I can’t hug every cat but I want to, I want to, I want to.”
She pulls herself together briefly, then breaks down all over again, saying “I’m sorry, I’m thinking about cats again.”
Essentially, the whole video is a beautiful crescendo leading up to the following epic climax, as she begins to talk about all the cats in the world that don’t have a home: “I just love them, and I want them, and I want them in a basket, and I want little bow-ties.”
The thing is, I don’t know if you, dear readers, are animal lovers, but if we’re being honest here, this is how I feel about dogs. It’s because I have a dog, and honestly, while this video might not be for reals, if you were to film me talking about how I feel about all the dogs that don’t have homes, you’d probably get some strikingly similar footage.
