Remember when Don Draper talked about how wonderful it is to sleep alone, how you can spread out in bed like a skydiver?
Science says you are a fool, Don Draper! Also, love is a real thing and not created to sell nylons.
At least for women. According to one study in the Wall Street Journal: “Women in long-term stable relationships fell asleep more quickly and woke up less during the night than single women or women who lost or gained a partner during the six to eight years of the study.”
Supposedly it’s because those women experience less anxiety, which outweighs the fact that people in your bed are always snoring. The author of the study claims “Women enjoy male presence psychologically even though it costs them minutes or even hours of sleep.”
Another good reason to consider just climbing into people’s beds. We really called that wrong, initially.
