This is your ex-boyfriend; this is your ex-boyfriend dreaming about you.

This is your ex-boyfriend; this is your ex-boyfriend dreaming about you.

Yesterday we covered that at some point your ex will miss you, and today we have scientific proof! And as we all know, you can’t fight or dispute science! (Well, proof based on dream journals of study participants, which is practically scientific.)

Although the study’s main focus was on the fact that 20% of people dream about their current partners on a regular basis, the more interesting point to be addressed is the 25% factor. Of the 2000 people who participated in the study — via keeping of dream journals — exes “frequently” show up in dreams (or nightmares) of both men and women. This is especially true for men, whether or not they’re in a new relationship, or have feelings for the ex in question, it’s happening, and more often than one would expect.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that he’s dying to get back together with you, it just means that you’re on his mind. Or, more specifically, you wiggled your way into his brain with all the voodoo magic you’ve been practicing in your spare time — it worked after all!

Reasons for these dreams, for both current partners and exes, will require further study, but researchers are excited to see if it has anything to do with day-time “intimacy or quarreling.” I don’t see why there’s a need for more studying when we have the information we always wanted, but you know how researchers are, they’re always trying to get to the bottom of things.

How often do you dream about your ex?
