If you don’t like initiating things in a romantic context, because you love hanging out in corners and not talking to people, you should come sit over here by me. My corner is great. However, if you are not initiating things because you are adhering to some copy of The Rules, good news! You don’t have to do that anymore! You’re free. You’re a modern woman!

According to The Daily Mail:

Making the first move sexually is mostly left up to men, usually because women fear they’ll be seen as ‘too forward’ (read slutty) and because we’re constantly told men love ‘the chase’ (don’t be a ballbreaker).

I’m rather pleased to report 72 percent of men are as sick of the status quo as a lot of women are and would love women to be the first to initiate sex.

Only 25 percent of females aged 18 to 24 make the first move in relationships, according to a study of college-aged men and women by the University of California in San Francisco.

So, men are in favor of this! “Slutty” is an antiquated label! I think we kind of suspected this as traditional dating roles give way to newer ones where people basically get to… behave any way they want to. Ladies get to make the first move and enjoy sex and men get to be cool with it. This sounds like great news for the human race in general really.

I’m not sure what that line about not being a ballbreaker had to do with anything, but I can go with it.
