Would you put your orgasm face on the internet for an infinite number of people to see? The Dutch website Beautiful Agony is changing the face of porn by encouraging people to do just that. A look through the site reveals a huge variety of people’s faces (and bedsheets), contorted in the unmistakable is-it-pain-or-is-it-pleasure facial expression. It is, unsurprisingly, pretty damn awesome.

According to the website:

Beautiful Agony began as a multimedia experiment, to test a hypothesis that eroticism in human imagery rests not in naked flesh and sexual illustration, but engagement with the face. We wondered whether film of a genuine, unscripted, natural orgasm – showing only the face – could succeed where the most visceral mainstream pornography fails, and that is, to actually turn us on.

The project started back in 2003 for free, then moved to a paid model. You must pay to join and it costs about $8 a month. Beautiful Agony is clear that they are trying to change the model of paid pornography that’s currently de rigueur…you know, the wildly fake and impersonal videos of porn stars having sex with each other.

Not only must users pay to join, Beautiful Agony contributors themselves are paid for the videos they submit. The site is updated at least five times a week and paid members have the option of downloading photos and videos to their hard drives. The site also features video “confessions,” where people talk about their sex lives and what turns them on.

It’s definitely worth a look through their galleries; If you don’t want to pay, you can see an overview of what’s offered on their “Everybody” tab. Seeing only people’s faces as they cum is strangely hot, I admit. I love that the site features such a wide range of people, too: different shapes, sizes, ages, races, ethnicities, likely even gender identities. This is sex as people really have it.

According to the Daily Mail, most of the users who have uploaded videos are women. Kate, a fashion designer who submitted a video, said:

“I think girls want to do it because they want to share a sexual experience that’s safe and supportive and – most importantly – values consent. Beautiful Agony basically helped me take the control back by sharing my sexuality in a way that I was all right with.”

It’s an intriguing model, no? Real people, real masturbation, real orgasms. And the imagery is controlled by the users, users who are sharing their own sexuality on their own terms. It’s empowering, it’s beautiful, it’s like no porn you’ve likely ever seen before. And it’s awesome.

If you’re feeling lonely this Valentine’s Day (or any day) you can join Beautiful Agony. You can also submit a video of yourself having an orgasm, if you’re interested. Contributors are paid $200 and get a free 30 day subscription to the site.
