According to AskMen.com, there are a number of myths about sex that our male counterparts believe to be true. Among them, that the withdrawal method of birth control works, and that once you’re old (you old, and she pregnant!) sex doesn’t matter anymore. To reveal the truth about these urban legends, AskMen brought in an expert, who handed out medically accurate, emotionally thoughtful advice.
Well, what a welcome change — a men’s magazine actually handing out practical sex advice to men, instead of variations on the theme of “how to legally coerce her into having sex with you.” Among the wisdom doled out (brace yourself):
“Good communication is the key to good sex, as is a willingness to be open to trying new techniques and positions to find out what each partner finds pleasurable.”
That one nearly made me fall off my Pilates ball. Women are too often tasked with the old “bring up sex with your partner” directive. All well and good, but if you have a partner who doesn’t know what the hell you’re talking about or why the hell he should care, your conversation isn’t going to go very far.
…you can get a sexually transmitted disease from oral sex.
I think the wisdom behind that one speaks for itself. And finally:
…true sexual enthusiasm far outweighs any gifted parts.
