We can no longer deny that the Kardashian family does not affect our country’s decisions. According to the Social Security Administration’s list of most popular baby names, the name Mason has climbed the list to the second-most popular boy name, just after religious Jacob and ahead of boring William, kicking off Michael for the first time since 1948.
Though I’m hoping this jump in rank is due to a large number of young American parent’s having a strong re-connection with the Mason-Dixon line, others attribute the name surge to Kourtney Kardashian‘s son Mason, born in 2009 and wearing dumb hats on TV ever since. Now that the Kardashians have gained enough power to influence people to name their children after them, we can look forward to total Kardashian domination.
Luckily the top baby girl names (Sophia, Isabella, Emma) do not all begin with K and sound like the lame rich girls you hated in boarding school, as is customary.
