Reed Krakoff has only been showing for a few seasons now, but the Coach creative director is already refining his easy, effortless spin on wearable minimalism. Aside from some creative use of cellophane, his collection was all about neat lines, solids and a bit of bright colorblocking. However, this white suit is louche and effortless in all the right ways, which is to say it may be draped softly but it still cuts a clean line. One of those fantastic Boxer bags is the only embellishment it needs. More

Safe to say, Rodarte’s Mulleavy sisters kind of outdid themselves for Spring 2012. The collection took inspiration from Vincent van Gogh to forge a bunch of swirling, hatchmarked frocks in peculiar shapes and endlessly beautiful prints. The first look out of the gate–worn by Saara Sihvonen–set the tone. More
Cynthia Rowley sent models down a mirrored runway for her Spring 2012 show that combined sportwear with allusions to Christopher Kane and distorted prints with pretty, ladylike silhouettes. More
Zac Posen’s Spring 2012 show was all about fancy dressing: Coco Rocha opened and closed with nothing but bombshell looks in between. The silhouttes were retro and smart, precisely cut sheaths you’ll no doubt see on Victoria Beckham soon followed by an array of showstopping red carpet gowns. But, this one… More
I’ll probably never be cool enough to wear a dress like this, but a girl can dream: behold the awesome, abstract shoreline print that came down the runway at Rachel Comey’s great show. The cut (especially the neckline) of the dress is already such a strong argument for minimalism, but throwing on that insanely great print knocks it out of the park. More
Carlos Miele showed a lot of clever folding and draping for Spring 2012, but… well, this is just stunning, isn’t it? The first actress to bag this gown gets a “best dressed of the year” accolade because it’s traditionally gorgeous enough for a red carpet but also statement-making, fresh, and inventive. Here’s looking at you, Charlize, Diane, Zoe… More

Since launching her eponymous line in 2010, Mandy Coon has already developed a reputation for dark, moody clothes to glower in the ranks beside goth favorites like Rick Owens and Ann Demuelemeester. For Spring 2012, however, she added bolts of bright, saturated color, like the season’s already-becoming-ubiquitous cobalt. Here, she takes her talents to a truly killer party dress. More

Last Friday, Rebecca Taylor showed a watery collection featuring dewy skin and slicked-back hair. Yes, there were sequins and metallics, but the whole thing was so soft and muted… a few of the final looks even had an echo of Rodarte’s wheatfields in lovely cloud prints. I know “wearable” sounds like faint praise but as I watched this look come down the runway, all I could think was, “How can I go home and do this immediately?” More
Pamella Roland makes gorgeous, elegant dresses that are perfect for wearing to charity balls. Many are also suitable for slightly more quotidian types of fancy parties, if you’re the sort of person who likes to get really dolled up. Today’s Spring 2012 show contained a wide variety of lengths and colors, but I’m a sucker for a classic silhouette with a dramatic back, and this all-white stunner was just that. More
Rachel Roy’s presentation this morning was perhaps the most civil, pleasant (and timely!) showing we’ve attended yet this Fashion Week… even Kim Kardashian’s appearance didn’t turn it into a sudden shitshow. More
I’m a huge Doo.Ri fan (her show last season was one of my favorites) and the woman can drape like no other, but there’s something so precise about this pure white look. It’s got the sex appeal of a bandage dress but with softness and subtlety… and those shoes aren’t half bad either. More
Yigal Azrouel showed a smorgasbord of looks on Friday, where he featured gorgeously minimal silhouettes in shocks of ultra-rich color. We couldn’t get over this luxe wide-leg trouser in electric blue paired with that effortless tan blouse (and some covetable makeup). Phoebe Philo would approve. More
