You know those ubiquitous Miu Miu glitter booties? Those ones to the left? There was a minute there when you couldn’t look at street style photography from this past fashion month without seeing them in every shot. Anyway, turns out their aforementioned ubiquity caught the attention of mass market shoe manufacturer (and knock off extraordinaire) Steve Madden. More

Kanye West embarrassed himself something awful with his debut womensear showing in Paris, an overwhelmingly dreadful, derivative collection of skintight mini dresses and Balmain knock-offs. Despite the entire fashion industry showing up in support, Kanye couldn’t convince critics that he has any business telling women what they should wear next season.

Last week, Japanese Vogue editor-at-large Anna Dello Russo released a behind-the-scenes video featuring Crystal Renn prepping and posing for an upcoming editorial. The video mostly shows Renn modeling androgynous looks, but at one point she’s sitting in a makeup chair, … More
Yesterday, a video of Japanese Vogue editor Anna Dello Russo hit the internet, in which hr team gives top model Crystal Renn “squinty” eyes by taping them back. Some people found this offensive. More
There’s a whole slew of terribly stylish women we may have never discovered if it wasn’t for the advent of street style blogs. While Elle‘s Kate Lanphear is beloved for her structured rock’n roll aesthetic and Vogue Nippon’s Anna Dello Russo is known for wearing head-to-toe couture hallucinations, former Pop editor-at-large and fellow street style (/fellow blogger) darling Shala Monroque has a downright uncanny way with color. Monroque fearlessly mixes head-turning prints, bright statement necklaces, and ladylike silhouettes for a fresh, modern look that’s completely her own. She also has killer legs. Here’s a few of her best looks.

Fashion designers are often guilty of producing womenswear that looks strikingly beautiful in editorials but is completely unwearable for most of the population (I’d say “all” if maniacs like Daphne Guinness and Anna Dello Russo didn’t exist). Along those lines, we’ve got a pervasive new trend emerging in the glossies: lace masks. They recently flooded the Fall 2011 couture runway at Chanel (above), then obscured Carine Roitfeld’S face in that first shot from Riccardo Tisci’s Visionaire, then hit Claudia Schiffer’s German Vogue cover, and now Katie Holmes’ Spanish Vogue editorial… Here’s those recent twists on the mini-trend and many other previous examples. Fashion industry luminaries descended upon Natalia Vodianova’s White Fairy Tale Love Ball. Vodianova’s event called for “white or silver” gowns, which Daphne Guinness seemed to ignore. Nathaniel Goldberg shot the beautiful Crystal Renn for an eye-catching Vogue Nippon editorial entitled “A Call For Camp,” a spread of many crazy hats. Although it wasn’t styled by editor-at-large fashion maniac Anna Dello Russo, it’s pretty out there all the same (and reflects her love of mixed prints and clashing patterns).
