Red Carpet Rundown: All The Models At The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

Red Carpet Rundown: All The Models At The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

As we mentioned, the Committee on Social Thought Victoria’s Secret held its annual fashion show extravaganza last night and everything that came down the runway was appalling. As for the women that wore those nightmare creations, they walked the red carpet and did glamorous, fancy stuff all night (before retreating to their homes to eat solids by the fistful). Here’s what Miranda KerrAdriana LimaCandice SwanepoelChanel Iman, Doutzen Kroes and the rest of the angels wore. Hope you like micro-minis! More »

Gallery: Narrowing Down The Most Ridiculous Looks From The 2011 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

At this point, it’s pretty obvious that the looks at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show are supposed to be ugly. It’s like one big, weird joke that the brand plays on people: take the world’s most conventionally attractive women, workshop their bodies beyond recognition for weeks with powdered milk and water fasting, and then obscure those bodies with the most comically, outrageously, unapologetically ugly shit on the planet. Here, we try and pick up the pieces from all the absurd outfits worn by Miranda Kerr, Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel, Chanel Iman, and the rest of the angels. We apologize to your eyeballs/brains in advance. More »

Gallery: See All The Crazy Fashion Industry Costumes At V's Halloween Party

Last night, V Magazine feted their Carine Roitfeld-styled November covers with a splashy party in Midtown. Cover girls Joan Smalls (in maybe the best costume), Candice Swanepoel, Bambi Northwood-BlythSui He, and Hanaa Ben Abdesslem all showed up, along with the man who lensed them (and the night’s co-host) Terry Richardson, who dressed as… a Rabbi. See loads of models (Abbey Lee! Crystal Renn! Toni Garrn!), designers (Richard Chai! Phillip Lim! Alber Elbaz!) and other industry shining stars in costume. More »

Campaigns: Tom Ford Taps Victoria’s Secret Angel Candice Swanepoel As The Face Of Fall

Campaigns: Tom Ford Taps Victoria's Secret Angel Candice Swanepoel As The Face Of Fall

Every now and again, a Victoria’s Secret Angel (or other some such comparatively bodacious mannequin) snags a high fashion campaign. Although Gisele’s luxury work is never surprising, it did cause quite a stir when Adriana Lima fronted Givenchy or Miranda Kerr served as the face of Jil Sander. Candice Swanepoel already staged her high fashion coup back in February when she landed a solo spot on the cover of Italian Vogue and the accompanying Meisel-shot editorial. …But apparently that wasn’t enough, as the South African model is now the Fall 2011 face of Tom Ford, as shot by Mert & Marcus (who are shooting roughly every campaign this season). In the first few shots, she’s barely recognizable. More »

Candice Swanepoel’s ‘Alarming Weight Loss’

Candice Swanepoel's 'Alarming Weight Loss'

This is a photo of Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel and Alessandra Ambrosio. They are all Victoria’s Secret Angels, historically the realm of buxom, curvaceous (and cheesy) specimens of female beauty. Candice has been doing a lot of high fashion work lately, like the Italian Vogue cover and walking for Givenchy, Viktor & Rolf and Dior this season. I find this image shocking. More »
