Last week, we met Casey Legler, a striking female artist working as a male model (she’s even on the men’s board at Ford). We were so very excited to encounter a female trailblazer of this sort, after a few seasons dominated by Andrej Pejic. Apparently, though, we spoke too soon, because right out of the gate this week comes the brand new Spring 2013 Saint Laurent Paris menswear campaign, starring one of our favorite models, Saskia de Brauw… who happens to be a very beautiful woman. Former French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld‘s hotly anticipated new magazine CR Fashion Book comes out next week, and photos are already making their way onto the web. From the looks of them, it’s going to be a good bit more adorable than anything Roitfeld oversaw at French Vogue; it’s got baby animals, fairy tales, the hot but unpopular Kate Upton, and only a weensy bit of nudity. The theme, Roitfeld says, is “rebirth,” which was no doubt inspired by Roitfeld becoming a grandmother for the first time, as well as the “rebirth” of her own career following her departure from a high profile job. Let’s take a look at some of the cute, bizarre, and lovely images that have been released so far. More

Tom Brady plays football but the fashion industry has decided he’s just too beautiful for all that pummeling and grunting, so they’ve bestowed upon him a nebulous career in being handsome. Thus, here is Tom Brady wearing a Givenchy suit on the cover of V, photographed by Mario Testino, styled by Carine Roitfeld and interviewed by Tom Ford himself (the full-court press). The New England Patriots’ quarterback and husband to Gisele Bundchen probably said some pleasant things in that interview, but it’s Ford who says all the interesting stuff. More

It’s that exciting time of year when we fashion bloggers brace ourselves for 5 lb. September issues (and dread the arrival of Fashion Month). Mon dieu! Could it possibly be true? Was Jackie Kennedy‘s legendary pink suit, the one she was wearing the day of JFK’s assassination really a fake? According to Karl Lagerfeld it is, but if we’ve learned anything about Karl, it’s that we must proceed with caution when it comes to whatever he’s sputtering. He is a grumpy li’l thing after all. When Carine Roitfeld abruptly departed Vogue Paris, she was replaced by longtime buddy and collaborator, Emmanuelle Alt. Ever since, people have been curious how the switch affected their friendship. The New York Times asked Carine about the woman she “once considered her ally.” More
You may look at this image and think to yourself, “Well, that’s a leather skirt Kanye West is wearing.” And you might even consider how it’s interesting that Kanye’s skirt is a little subversive in his super machismo’ed out field of hip-hip. You might also think to yourself, “That looks more like an apron, Ashley. Why are you so dumb?” More
Kanye West embarrassed himself something awful with his debut womensear showing in Paris, an overwhelmingly dreadful, derivative collection of skintight mini dresses and Balmain knock-offs. Despite the entire fashion industry showing up in support, Kanye couldn’t convince critics that he has any business telling women what they should wear next season.
