Last week, we brought you the fun, grungy, hot makeup of the early nineties. Today, we are bringing something much, much worse to the table: multiple ugly trends from the 90s.
I’m talking Pamela Anderson lipliner, Baby Spice hair, metallic frosted shadow up to harsh-lined brows, unknowingly bad foundation lines, too much stick liner, so much bronzer and much, much more. Trying to figure out how to look like the worst version of your middle school self? Here it is, guys. There will be blood. Or, at the very least, glitter.
Internet, please don’t bring these back up when I run for city council, mmk? More

Like thousands upon thousands of other people, I have been wearing Ruby Woo by MAC for several years. I have worn it to parties, to school, to work, to interviews, to sets, to the gym (yes, I am one of those people who wears makeup to the gym, and I know — blah blah what’s the point blah blah).
I love wearing red lipstick out, but I have always been somewhat cautious of doing so when out with somebody. You know, romantically. Red lipstick on a first date feels weird. More

I guess it was only a matter of time until those lying liars at Lancome were going to be held accountable for their lies. Specifically, by one Orthodox Jewish woman who was really counting on Lancome’s “lasting perfection” make-up to get her through the Sabbath. More
You know, Barbie with no make-up does not look so bad. She just looks really tired and hungover. At least, that’s how she looks in the altered photo of her done by Eddi Aguirre. Here. She looks like she needs a nap, terribly: More

I love how candy shelves look right around Easter. Everything turns to these gorgeous pastel shades all wrapped up in tinted cellophane, and finally, it becomes acceptable to reply “strawberries and cream” when somebody asks what you’re wearing to a party.
Also, yes, that is Peep sushi. More

Here at The Gloss, we’re big fans of standout style from all over the globe. Mercedez-Benz China Fashion Week Fall 2013 is only halfway through, but there have already been so many remarkable and lovely things seen on the runways. From unique hairstyles to outfits I will most definitely try emulating come fall. To me, the most wonderful aspect so far has been the incredible makeup done by one of the world’s premier makeup artists, Mao Geping. More

I love red lipstick. Love it. It’s my go-to makeup because when I wear it, I can just put it on with a bit of mascara and pretend I’m going for a “fresh, modern” look when in reality, I am just so very lazy.
Knowing how to make your lipstick stay on longer is extremely important. Otherwise, you will look like Adam Devine in that scene of Workaholics where he does mushrooms. You do not want this. You do not want this at all. More

Huffington Post‘s celebrity section has a knack for being melodramatic, but when they posted a photo of Madonna walking through Midtown Manhattan with sunglasses and a hat on, the headline on the front page bordered on obnoxious: “BARELY RECOGNIZABLE.” More
Are you a black swan or a white swan? Either way, you’re going to be applying a metric ton of base, And not one, but two sets of false eyelashes (I find this particularly notable because I can barely put on one set of false eyelashes). Racked demonstrates how Sara Mearns, a principal dancer for the New York City Ballet, prepares for her nightly routine, and goes from this…

In an industry that tends to employ primarily well-known, inaccessible celebrities as the face of its campaigns, airbrushing them to the point of no return and making unsubstantiated claims about their products, it is always nice to see a woman who is not famous be honored for her contributions to society in addition to having her beauty recognized.
