It’s Springtime! That means big changes to makeup routines: gone is the matte skin, the moody ’90s lip colors, the heavy mascara, the cat’s eyes. Instead, skin gets dewier, cheeks get highlighted, liner is going from black to electric blue and moss green and lips are getting real, real bold.
This is the second of a few Spring beauty features we’ve got planned for May–the first is here. Right now we’re focusing on that tried and true warm weather character: the statement-y Spring lip.
Spring 2013 runways from Jason Wu to Prada (that’s Kati Nescher on the Prada runway up there) showed a variety of bold lips in shades from saturated pinks to electric corals and bright reds. Don’t be afraid, though! While bold lipsticks can be intimidating, a minimal, fresh face and a bright lip is easy to wear and really flattering.
We have been testing LOTS of lipsticks and stains these past few weeks and ahead you’ll find some of our favorites from NARS, Tarte, MAC, Hourglass, Make Up For Ever, Tom Ford and more… More

This is the first of a few Spring beauty features we’ve got planned for May–first, we’re focusing on the face. In an industry that tends to employ primarily well-known, inaccessible celebrities as the face of its campaigns, airbrushing them to the point of no return and making unsubstantiated claims about their products, it is always nice to see a woman who is not famous be honored for her contributions to society in addition to having her beauty recognized. The Oscars happened this weekend and we’re going to spend all week picking up the pieces. After furiously parsing the red carpet yesterday, we’ve decided to try our hand at replicating the best beauty looks–namely, the perfect faces of Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, Kerry Washington, Jennifer Lawrence, Salma Hayek and more. Wish us luck! More
Pink has been making quite a comeback this past year! In addition to being a COVERGIRLÂ spokesperson, she has also been nominated for a Grammy for her album The Truth About Love. And one thing we can always count on is … More
Dressing (or being dressed) for the red carpet is no easy feat. Making sure your look is creative enough to get attention and classic enough to avoid the critics is rarely accomplished, and once you have the look down, the make-up is a whole other story. It’s easy to become, as Cher Horowitz preaches, a “Monet”: “From far away it’s ok, but up close it’s a big old mess!”
This year’s VMAs and Emmy‘s brought a whole slew of red carpet disasters and show stoppers, but it was the make-up that made the the look a masterpiece or a, well…Monet. Trend-setting makeup expert COVERGIRL is helping cover the best red carpet looks from the VMAs during their ClevverTV Fashion Faceoff: Red Carpet Edition, and calling out the stars who rocked their looks this year. Let’s take our own look at what happened in the beauty department at these fall awards shows. More

Canadian fashion glossy Flare put the spotlight on a trio of ridiculously pretty women, two of whom we haven’t seen in a while: Estonia’s Tiiu Kuik who–besides repping CoverGirl–is not the catwalk fixture she once was; Canada’s formerly-ubiquitous Irina Lazareanu (last seen in the Lanvin x H&M campaign) and Dominican Lancome face Arlenis Sosa (who hasn’t seen any shortage of More
