“Lincoln” was big news in Richmond. We are so not over the Civil War. Just this morning there was a “history mobile” parked right outside my office, inviting me to come in and learn more about it. Going around Richmond, I usually take all the tree-lined cobblestone streets, Victorian architecture and statues for granted. But for the 55 days you were here last fall, I looked hard at Richmond—because one of my top-five celebrity crushes (that’s you, by the way, not Daniel Day-Lewis or JGL) was seeing the same views and no doubt doing a better job seeing them than I was, even if it was from behind the tinted windows of one of the black SUVs that ferried around all the above the line players.
