So many of our favorite ladies are in France right now! Today’s Cannes Film Festival red carpet update features Jessica Chastain, Milla Jovovich (up there, looking amazing), Catherine Deneuve, Kylie Minogue, Aishwarya Rai, Marion Cotillard, Dita von Teese–but it’s still Cannes, so the fameballs are out in full force. Expect some really ridiculous looks from Bai Ling and co, too.
Last night, Vogue and MAC hosted a splashy dinner attended by equally splashy people in honor of Prabal Gurung at LA’s Chateau Marmont. Everybody loves Prabal so lots of interesting people in cool looks below–and Diane Kruger wore a belly top! More

The British Fashion Awards took place last night and the big winners were Stella McCartney (Designer Brand Award, Designer of the Year), Cara Delevingne (Model Award) and Alexa Chung (British Style Award, three years running). Here’s the model-studded red carpet, featuring them and many more. More
I take this as a horrible reminder that blondes can dye their hair black, but not really the other way around. More
Burlesque star Dita Von Teese is famously great at using makeup to create retro glamor, so it might surprise you that she’s never done a makeup line before. But that’s about to be corrected. Dita has partnered with German beauty brand Artdeco to create a line aptly called Dita, and it contains all the red lipstick and fake eyelashes that you’d expect it to.
“I think that anyone can learn to be glamorous with the right tools and practice,” Dita tells Beautylish, and I’m inclined to agree, as what we think of as “beauty” is nothing but a set of socially constructed signifiers we are trained to recognize as desirable, but which nevertheless can be a source of pleasure and creativity for women so long as we acknowledge the game we are playing.
What? It’s true. Anyway, look at the makeup. It looks nice! More
One… more… Academy… Awards… gallery. Our brains are mush! But here’s all the fancy people at Elton John’s annual Oscars blowout, including Gwen Stefani, Dita von Teese, Kim Kardashian, Christina Hendricks and more… More
Marc Jacobs latest collaborators aren’t actors or models, they’re cartoons: Eric Cartman, Randy Marsh and Butters Stotch of South Park. More
Don’t you hate it when people pretend like “burlesque” is some sort of magical high art form completely divorced from the idea of taking one’s clothes off for money? As if some boobie tassels automatically make a lady morally superior to the more modern types of strippers who are out there? Famed burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese does, and she is going to tell it like it is (with her trademark grace, of course). More
Over the weekend, LA’s Museum of Contemporary Art held its annual gala, attracting all kinds of fancy people in pricey dresses. The world’s most famous performance artist Marina Abramovic took the creative reigns for the evening, which amounted to guests wearing white lab coats, human heads serving as table centerpieces and cakes that looked like naked people. Performance art. Anyway, see what Gwen Stefani, Nicole Richie, Rachel Zoe, Dita von Teese, Kirsten Dunst and Abramovic herself wore (under their lab coats). More
I know, I know, the very mention of the word “car” makes your feeble lady-brain stop listening and go to some happy place of cosmos and kittens. But look, these cars belong to a pretty woman! Who models, and does burlesque, and used to be a stripper! More
