A week ago, we posted the first campaign images for the hotly anticipated collaboration between Versace and H&M, featuring current runway darlings Daphne Groeneveld, a heavily retouched Lindsey Wixson and a curiously unrecognizable Sasha Pivovarova (who’s doing more of a bombshell thing lately anyway). Now we have another image–featuring Daphne and her unmistakeable, exaggerated features–in a fringed heart-print cocktail dress and toting what will surely be some very sold-out studded handbags. More

When I first found out Versace was doing a line with H&M, I grew intensely curious as to what it would look like. How would Versace, a name which brings up connotations of resplendent, expensive excess, slot into a store known primarily for its cute and affordable (and wearable) fast fashions? Answer: well enough, I suppose. Some early images of the line (out in the US November 19) appear in the October issue of Vogue Russia, and they show an emphasis on fun and colorful 80′s inspired patterns. Here they are.

These days, being a luxury label has a few new terms: namely, you must produce a collection for every season (even if they don’t exist) and you have to make a line for kids. Lanvin just did it, Gucci did it, and now Versace. Perhaps as a balance to the Italian house’s recent branch into low end, they’ve just released a collection of unapologetically luxe clothes for those little tree-climbing, grass-rolling-in, dirt-eating, vomit monsters we call children. With yesterday’s news of H&M landing Versace to guest design a collection this year, WWD brings a few glimpses of the clothes in question. Judging by the materials (leather) and detailing (endless studs), we figure the dresses will still do significant damage to your wallet… just not at Versace prices. So flip through the gallery and tell us if you’re looking forward to Versace’s guest designer spot with the fast fashion chain… More

W Magazine did a story on the relationship between designers and their musical muses. With some, the connection is obvious: Florence Welch was recently named the face of Gucci so she’s a natural fit to inspire Gucci creative director Frida Giannini. With others, it’s more unclear (what about flower child Esperanza Spalding inspires minimalist Francisco Costa?*). Check out the pairings in the gallery. Also: poor Baptise Giabiconi!! More

Donatella Versace’s muse of the moment is Mad Men actress January Jones. You know this because January Jones shows up in Versace to every event celebrating film and television and shows up naked in advertisements celebrating Versace. Apparently the collaborative juices were so potent and syrupy, they lead to an eyewear collection called Versace January J, presumably because they cannot fit Versace January Jones, Star of Mad Men and the Upcoming X-Men Prequel, X-Men: First Class on the sides of the sunglasses. They hit stores in April. Here is the collection, accompanied by quotes from Mad Men about social problems. More
We replicated Karl Lagerfeld and have his clone locked in the basement with only one valet. We can’t guarantee that this is exactly what the first Karl would advise, but we think it comes fairly close. This week’s question is concerns moving to Italy. More
Yesterday’s Candy magazine shoot featuring drag-versions of US Vogue power duo Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington reminded me of past images wherein models were styled to look like designers (Lagerfeld, of course), editors (Anna) or other major models (Kate! Linda!). Have a look at some of our favorites in the gallery. More
