An Extremely Pregnant Kim Kardashian Lands The Cover Of CR Fashion Book

An Extremely Pregnant Kim Kardashian Lands The Cover Of CR Fashion Book

We supposed it started with the Met Gala. Then that L’Officiel cover with Kane West where the couple appeared to be having sex. Now, Kim Kardashian‘s weird, inexplicably effective circling of high fashion’s periphery has brought her to the cover of CR Fashion Book, the fancy collectable high fashion bible from Carine Roitfeld. If this isn’t a sign of the fashion industry’s shameful lack of originality Kim’s unexpected versatility, nothing is. More »

Gallery: Six Surprising Facts From Grace Coddington's Memoir (Plus Some Great Vintage Photos)

The latest issue of American Vogue gives us a sneak peek into Vogue creative director Grace Coddington‘s memoir, and from what I’ve read of it so far, it’s absolutely fascinating. It starts with Grace leaving her home in Wales at age 17 to go to London and be a model in 1958(!), and goes on to detail many stories of the naughty, bohemian, fun life she had there, St. Tropez, and elsewhere. It also contains many surprising facts. Here are six of them (all taken from the excerpt), plus the great vintage photos from Grace’s life that Vogue included with it. If the rest of the book is as good as this part, I’m going to burn through it in a week. More »

Here’s The Anna Dello Russo X H&M Collection (It Looks Like Stuff Snooki Would “Design”)

Here's The Anna Dello Russo X H&M Collection (It Looks Like Stuff Snooki Would "Design")

Editor-about-town Anna Dello Russo has “collaborated” with H&M on a line of accessories (here’s the promo video) that are nakedly intended to catch the attention of street style photographers. Since Dello Russo isn’t exactly a big name stateside (outside fashion circles, that is) we wonder if this collection will sell out as quickly as Marni or Versace. The pieces hit H&M locations earl-yOctober and range from $24.95 to $299. Here’s a sampling. More »

Fantastic 3-D Nail Art Inspired By Kate Middleton, Taxi Driver’s Seats

Super editor Sally Singer has designed some striking, peculiar and pretty awesome nail art for NOWNESS. Snapped by Raymond Meier and conceived in collaboration with nail artist Maki Sakamoto, it doesn’t appear you can buy them, sadly, but you sure can gawk. Here, Singer brings her unique vision to looks inspired by old ladies, Kate Middleton and perhaps best, beaded taxi driver seats. More »

Don’t Ask Anna Wintour About Kanye West’s Debut Womenswear Collection

Don't Ask Anna Wintour About Kanye West's Debut Womenswear Collection

Kanye West embarrassed himself something awful with his debut womensear showing in Paris, an overwhelmingly dreadful, derivative collection of skintight mini dresses and Balmain knock-offs. Despite the entire fashion industry showing up in support, Kanye couldn’t convince critics that he has any business telling women what they should wear next season.

Now, the fun part! More »

Friday Style Icon: The Inimitable Shala Monroque

Friday Style Icon: The Inimitable Shala Monroque

There’s a whole slew of terribly stylish women we may have never discovered if it wasn’t for the advent of street style blogs. While Elle‘s Kate Lanphear is beloved for her structured rock’n roll aesthetic and Vogue Nippon’s Anna Dello Russo is known for wearing head-to-toe couture hallucinations, former Pop editor-at-large and fellow street style (/fellow blogger) darling Shala Monroque has a downright uncanny way with color. Monroque fearlessly mixes head-turning prints, bright statement necklaces, and ladylike silhouettes for a fresh, modern look that’s completely her own. She also has killer legs. Here’s a few of her best looks.

Gallery: Lost Lost Photos Of Vogue Creative Director Grace Coddington

U.S. Vogue creative director Grace Coddington has been beautiful for longer than you’ve been alive. This is a fact. Even after she left modeling to pursue a career in media, cameras just loved to look at her. For a few years, one of those cameras belonged to her (now ex) husband Willie Christie, and his talented eye certainly did her justice. An upcoming by-appointment-only art show of Christie’s work at London’s Ivy Club features photos he took of her over 35 years ago that are just now seeing the light of day for the first time(!) Here are a few of them; check out Vogue‘s website to see the rest. More »
