When she’s not busy being a teen idol on The Vampire Diaries or a glittery goddess on the red carpet, Nina Dobrev enjoys acting like a total weirdo goofball. More

Last night, country music stars from across the globe descended on Nasville for the 2013 CMA Awards. Dresses were bold, big, statement-y affairs with lots of embellishments–and hair was the biggest accessory of all. Check out stars like Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Faith Hill, Kellie Pickler, Lucy Hale, and more on the red carpet. More
It was, however, as close to the “fantasy theme wedding” line as one can possibly get without technically going over it. More
The Cannes Film Festival ended this weekend (but you were probably BBQ-drunk and binge-watching Arrested Development, yes?). While we love the festival for its reliably risky, glamorous and often downright weird red carpet (see above), all good things must come to an end. Here’s the last of the photocalls, the premieres, and looks from the star-studded Closing Ceremony. More
We’re so excited about Beyonce: Life Is But A Dream, by the way. We understand it’s actually a daring, lucid reimagining of The Tempest starring Beyonce as Prospero, Jay-Z as Ariel and Kanye West as Caliban (Kim Kardashian will provide comic relief, playing both Stefano and Trinculo). The magic of showbiz! More
Predictably, there wasn’t much to like on the red carpet and there was even less to remember. Luckily, the fashion disasters came fast and furious: Halle Berry showed her midriff, Alyssa Milano went to prom, and Jennifer Lopez really wanted you to think about her naked. More
This week’s version of “Disney Princesses as [blank]” involves some very intricate dresses. More
Blake Lively attended last night’s party for Lady Gaga at Barneys and showed up in an Yves Klein blue pantsuit by Elie Saab with lace detailing on the shoulders. We wouldn’t call this a full-blown disaster but… to the details! More

Angelina Jolie and partner Brad Pitt were in Bosnia on Saturday for the Sarajevo Film Festival, where Jolie was honored with a special award and wore a relaxed, ’70s-inspired Elie Saab gown. More
We love Diane Kruger. Maybe it’s because the Chanel runway is effectively her closet? Or that the former model is flawless looking? Regardless, Kruger allegedly doesn’t use a stylist and however she shows up–whether she’s working minimalism, intricate beading or retro silhouettes–she always looks memorable. Also, if this point hasn’t been made everywhere it should be: the woman’s makeup is always, always, always on point. Please enjoy the following gallery of amazing red carpet looks from Diane Kruger, today’s Friday Style Icon. More
I should really title this “some of Tilda Swinton’s Greatest Red Carpet Looks” because there’s only 15 slides here and in my opinion few women come anywhere near her fashion prowess. While most actresses rely heavily on romantic, pretty dresses by Marchesa or Elie Saab, Swinton’s fallbacks are Haider Ackermann, Jil Sander and Lanvin. She may get blasted by idiotic red carpet correspondents (who themselves dress like overgrown princesses suffocating under 4 lbs. of makeup), but it doesn’t matter at all: the only thing Swinton has more of than style is… talent. Let’s spend a few minutes appreciating this original. More
Boring or beautiful? More
Elie Saab is perhaps best known as a man who creates safe, winning choices for actresses to wear at red carpet events. This is not to say his dresses aren’t very pretty, it’s just to say that his Spring 2011 couture collection showed today and it is comprised of 41 floaty, flattering, feminine, red carpet-baiting looks. Since there’s never too much to say about columns with lace and flowers in classic silhouettes and swirling trains, let’s just imagine which actresses will show up in what.
