The former Kate Middleton attended the UK premiere of War Horse yesterday, Prince William and his umbrella in tow. She wore a long-sleeved lacey gown by Temperley with an uncharacteristically sexy plunging neckline. Of course, there are only so many times a woman can wear a long-sleeved lacey gown in her lifetime, so it’s impossible not to be reminded of… More
This week’s Friday Style Icon is pretty straight forward: Michelle Williams is a really talented actress and a fashion risk-taker with good taste. She wears a refined palette of metallics and neutrals, knows what looks good on her (she loves a fitted bodice and a full skirt) and sticks to her guns (she will wear all the lace dresses). She’s partial to Chanel, Balenciaga, and Erdem and her trademark look is a mix of ladylike, mod and nonchalant. Although sometimes she comes up short, for the most part Williams is a lovely presence on red carpets who makes unconventional, intelligent fashion decisions and occasionally just kills it (we all remember her yellow Vera Wang from the Oscars). Let’s see some of her hits. More
Duchess Catherine and her sister Pippa Middleton, formerly (?) the Middleton sisters, attended a friend’s wedding over the weekend and wore some pretty things. Also Pippa has a boyfriend and he is not named Harry. More
Much has been made of Kate Middleton’s tour of Canada: how she’s styling herself, how she brought along 30 outfits (anticipating several changes a day), how the only member of her entourage is her hairdresser… but, really, what’s mattered most so far is that lovely Erdem dress she wore on Day 1. In typical Duchess of Cambridge fashion, it sent women crashing online stores in search of something demure, delicate and lacey. Here are a few excellent options from $24-$985, featuring Erdem, French Connection, Issa, Topshop, Anthropologie, and more. More

The only thing we at TheGloss love more than buying stuff is pointing out stuff that’s too ridiculous to buy. While we’d be hard-pressed to say no to a Chanel gown, a Chanel football is a little more of a … More
So yesterday I said Michelle Williams seems to favor lace when she turns up on the red carpet. Today I saw a photo of her in a lace Oscar de la Renta frock and thought to myself, “Maybe I shouldn’t run my mouth. Maybe I should compile some evidence.” Also: fun poll. Have a look in the gallery at Michelle’s five recent lace looks and then vote for your favorite. More

Black and white and blue all over… just like the runways instructed, cobalt was ubiquitous this year. Here’s a gallery of our 25 favorite looks from the red carpet this year, which run the gamut from Diane Kruger’s stunning minimalism to Tilda Swinton’s avant garde silhoutte and a whole lot of electric blue in between.
