Beloved Brooklyn-based handbags and accessories label Hayden-Harnett has already produced two fantastic collaborations with Walt Disney Signature: Fantasia and Tron. But the HH team–Toni Hacker and Benjamin Harnett–told TheGloss exclusively what project they’ll be re-interpreting next: the latest Pirates of the Caribbean installment, On Stranger Tides. Here’s the first peak at the collection anywhere, with another image (of one of the amazing scarves!) after the jump. More
Writer and illustrator Penelope Bagieu is one of the most popular bloggers in Europe, but until now she’s been an unknown in America. Her blog Ma Vie Est Tout a Fait Fascinante (My Life Is Completely Fascinating) chronicled Bagieu’s life, complete with illustrations. She then created a character named Josephine and has written three graphic novels about Josephine and her life adventures in Paris. (Though the books are currently available only in French, the fetching illustrations make it fun and relatively easy for non-speakers to follow along.) In her first-ever U.S. interview, Penelope talked about Paris’ blogger scene, how to create your opposite, and whether it’s true that American women are less stylish than French ones. More

Hayden-Harnett let me creep on their new collaboration with Disney Signature, inspired by the classic animated film, Fantasia. Here’s photographic evidence of my encounter with the collection’s spectacular handbags, and maybe an accessory or Tron piece or two… More
Last week TheGloss had the pleasure of crashing Hayden-Harnett’s north Brooklyn store/workshop as they geared up for their huge KAPOW sale (the last day of which is today!) while having just launched their latest collection, a line of bags and accessories inspired by Disney’s Fantasia. We chatted with them about the film, the collection, celeb designers, and a certain medieval garment.

Last night at a benefit for Habitat for Humanity sponsored by Ferrero Chocolates, I got to meet Olympic gold medal winning figure skater Evan Lysacek (you might also know him from his successful stint on Dancing with the Stars). Evan’s costumes for the Vancouver Games were designed by Vera Wang. Now, Lysacek and Wang are collaborating on an upcoming menswear line, which Lysacek describes as his “new passion.” More
It’s a new season for Teva. The shoe brand is trying to get away from its traditional association with Boulder and Berkeley hippies and become a viable lifestyle brand. Their first attempt was a misstep – the Teva stiletto they co-created with Grey Ant. The shoe was almost universally reviled in both the fashion and sports community, but it definitely got people talking about the brand again – the stiletto was even mentioned on Conan. Their next effort is more balanced and in line with the brand’s DNA. It’s a sneaker called the Gnarkosi due to hit stores in February, and The Gloss got an exclusive first look. More
CMT’s reality show Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team, about choosing the members of the most famous group of cheerleaders ever, is a total guilty pleasure. However, the offscreen drama is often way more interesting than what gets shown on TV. Much of the drama on and off screen centers around Kelli Finglass, director of the DCC organization, and Judy Trammell, the DCC choreographer, since they’re the people who choose which girls make the team.
Our informant – we’ll call her Yellow Rose – gives us all the scoop on Mean Girls, body issues, and double standards in the DCC. More
If you’ve ever seen A&E’s Hoarders, you’ll know that the show’s breakout star is a possum who appeared in one of the hoarders’ homes and was immortalized in the show’s second season preview clips. We were fortunate enough to land an interview with the possum. He spoke to us about his newfound reality fame. More
I’ve made no secret of my crush on Vinny from Jersey Shore. However, a tipster sent us this photo from Vinny from back in his college days, when he wasn’t quite the tattooed studmuffin he is now. Before he was being ushered to the front of the line at clubs in South Beach, Vinny Guadagnino was slumming it in the dorms at the State University of New York at New Paltz, in upstate New York. More
Bedbugs aren’t just for the Hollister store anymore. A source tells TheGloss that Elle magazine sent home staff members on one floor of their company after a bedbug scare. Elle brought in beagles to sniff out the offending insects (a … More
