We’ve said it a million times and we’ll say it for as long as we cover red carpet goings-on: absolutely nothing beats an MTV Awards Show for catastrophically bad fashion. Last night’s 2013 MTV Europe Music Awards was no exception–you’ve already seen Miley Cyrus‘ outfit, we bet–but unfortunately, we still have to cobble together a best dressed list. Here’s our attempt, featuring five people, including one professional model and a comedian who showed up in character. More

Call them what you will: cutout dresses, sheer panel dresses, lace panel dresses, illusion dresses. The goal of them all is largely the same: to remind any and all viewers that the wearer of said dress is extremely naked underneath it. More
As far as supermodels turned singers go, we’d rank it somewhere in the neighborhood of Tyra Banks, but less self-serving. More
Chunky sweaters that look like you stole them from your dad are particularly on-trend for fall, but before hitting H&M, check out these 12 Etsy options. More
A long time ago, this would have passed for “pretty racy.” In 2013, however, a sheer plunge to the navel is kind of standard. If you can’t see vagina, it’s barely news. More

Many bloggers were a bit surprised when Nicole Kidman was named the face of Jimmy Choo’s Fall 2013 campaign. For one, Kidman is known for being–as Choo’s creative director Sandra Choi described her–”nuanced and refined.” And Jimmy Choo, with its aggressively sexy, serpentine aesthetic is… decidedly not. It always strikes us as kind of weird when real life couples leverage their real life relationships for… advertising campaigns? Seems a little exploitative.
Then again, we’re not comely young Brits with major British fashion labels throwing money (pounds?!) at us. More
The Bling Ring premiered in LA last night with a splashy Louis Vuitton (of course) and Vanity Fair-hosted red carpet.
The stars wore an impressively interesting assortment of looks–what else would we expect from rising style stars like Emma Watson, not to mention established fashion icons like Chloe Sevigny, Gwen Stefani and Sofia Coppola? Check out all the looks below.
And yes, Paris Hilton was there. What else is she doing these days? More
American Express threw a huge splashy party at Opening Ceremony‘s SoHo flagship last night. They were celebrating the launch of the Opening Ceremony Elvis collection–their Fall 2013 extravaganza of variously Elvis Presley-themed pieces–and, being a huge Elvis fan, I had to get downtown. Also, there also aren’t a lot of fashion parties where the DJ spins rockabilly classics from Elvis and Charlie Feathers. More
It’s a Gwyneth Paltrow extravaganza lately! She’s got a new cookbook to promote (the recipes of which involve no food), she’s got a lot of food not to eat, she’s got to talk about how all the foods she’s not eating saved her marriage and… Iron Man 3 just came out, so she has to show up on red carpets with really shiny hair, which is something she does quite well. Perhaps all that not eating results in shiny hair? Maybe she is dying. More
Normally we’re not too fond of the suede thigh-high look–it strikes us as a little too unapologetically Kim Kardashian/Real Housewives of Orange County/Paris Hilton‘s “career as a recording artist.” But Kruger makes it work by keeping everything else so subdued… and also because she’s Diane Kruger and we kind of blindly approve of everything she wears. So… sorry for being a coward. More
