If you haven’t heard yet, Rihanna created a collection for River Island for London Fashion Week (though her show was actually unofficial). Oh, and everybody hates it. More
Earlier today, while scanning my reader for amusing stories to pick up, I came across one in The Huffington Post titled “The 7 Grossest Things Seen Backstage At Fashion Week.” There’s nothing I love more than gawking at the ugly side of fashion, so I clicked. Most of the things on the list were legitimately gross—stylists using their own spit on models in lieu of hair spray, people shaking other people’s hands right after they sneeze—but one item on the list stood out to me as potentially wrongheaded. Last night, New York Fashion Week began with a fashion show put on by The Heart Truth, a campaign mounted by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute designed to teach women about the dangers of heart disease. To symbolize this very important organ, all of the celebrities and quasi-celebrities in the show wore red dresses, because if you are going to contemplate your death, you might as well do it while looking at something beautiful. But whose symbolic heart dress was prettiest? Here are some choices. More
Perhaps sensing that her body acceptance initiative was painting too sane, reasonable and likable a picture of her to be fun anymore, Lady Gaga has written a hilariously awful diss track about her perceived enemies, New York Times fashion writer Cathy Horyn and her 86-year-old boyfriend, Art Ortenberg More
Part of why I hated covering fashion week last year (and why I’m fleeing the state during most of it this year) was because my name was frequently not on the list when it was supposed to be. Here are some tips on how to do that, courtesy of a real, live PR person who would prefer to remain anonymous. More

Pamella Roland makes gorgeous, elegant dresses that are perfect for wearing to charity balls. Many are also suitable for slightly more quotidian types of fancy parties, if you’re the sort of person who likes to get really dolled up. Today’s Spring 2012 show contained a wide variety of lengths and colors, but I’m a sucker for a classic silhouette with a dramatic back, and this all-white stunner was just that. More
