Like we told you yesterday, Katy Perry is on the cover of the October issue of In Style Magazine. She also stars in a sizable spread within, and despite her hot pink hair, the photos are surprisingly classy and subdued. There are no whipped-cream-shooting bustiers here, only lovely retro outfits and Kitty Purry doing her best impression of Bettie Page. Much like his 30 Rock character Jack Donaghy, Alec Baldwin is widely known to be a sharply dressed man. “It’s after six. What am I, a farmer?” Jack once said in response to being asked why he was wearing a tux, and it’s always seemed like Alec agreed. Imagine my surprise, then, when I saw him impersonating a farmer in Hamptons Magazine, even going so far as to wear cut-offs. Are there exceptions to the don’t-look-like-a-farmer rule that are specific to Baldwins when they are in the Hamptons? In any case, my love for him is unconditional. More
Not long after appearing in that somewhat creepy editorial in Marie Claire, Elle Fanning has landed another high profile gig: the fall Marc by Marc Jacobs campaign. Unlike in the Marie Claire shoot, she’s all covered up and doing the Olsen twins thing in oversized coats and sunglasses, which is a relief. She sort of looks like a kid trying on her mom’s clothes, which is fine, if that’s what Marc Jacobs was going for. It’s certainly better than seeing her in hot pants tailored for her tiny, 13-year-old ass. Something about it is still kind of creepy, though. Could it be the fact that she looks like she’s about to burst into tears in all the photos?
