Fashion week is coming up! Your boyfriend is probably going to leave you for Kate Moss! Your life is going to resemble a terrible Adam Sandler movie!
No, no, that’s not going to happen. Good talk, though. And Kate Moss seems like a pretty okay person, so I’m not sure how much wacky mayhem would occur. I mean, she’d have to get divorced so it would… not be an Adam Sandler movie. But, given that men do seem to like dating really beautiful women, do they secretly fantasize about dating a model? Would they ditch their current girlfriend for a model if they could? Would your boyfriend ditch you for a model?
I mean, probably not, but lets see how paranoid you should be. We polled our male friends – and we tried to get as many who have dated models as possible – on why dating models is appealing/completely unappealing. More
Yesterday, I started part one of my two part piece on my year in fashion. Although I could delve into just how evil my boss J was or how he was one of the biggest divas I had ever met or how whenever he yelled at me he’d then corner me in the supply closet to “reassure” me that he did actually love me, need me and as he told his wife, supposedly, could never live without me, this isn’t The Devil Wears Prada type of story. No, this one is about P, the fashion designer from hell. More
I worked in fashion for one whole year. I was hired in the midst of Fall Fashion Week in 2005, then a year later, I walked out the door halfway through Fall Fashion Week in 2006. I was done. More

I know people who go to fashion week are always saying things like “my feet are killing me!” and “this job will be the death of me,” but despite what Rachel Zoe would have you believe, nobody has “literally” died there until now. Maybe people will stop saying those things now? More
You know what’s more fun than going to a fashion show? Going to a fashion show and seeing a mostly naked lady running around outside before and/or afterwards. Click through for the full monty (obviously NSFW). More
Fall 2012 is showing at NYFW, which means out with the breezy dresses, the delicate prints, the bright shoes and… in with the gloom (which we’re all for). If there’s one look that landed on every major runway, it’s probably what fashion glossies like to call the “urban warrior,” a modern, usually-but-not-always minimal tough girl look for the big city. In other words: lots of leather, sharp and angular silhouettes, combat, knee or thigh-high boots… with loads of military and gladiatorial flourishes in a palette of black and not much else. See Alexander Wang, Michael Kors, Prabal Gurung, Proenza Schouler and more ahead. More
The much-discussed Stella McCartney “thin dress” that Kate Winslet wore two different versions of last year is back. Both Phillip Lim and Victoria Beckham took the idea and ran with it in their winter/fall 2012 shows this fashion week. That means it is officially A Thing. More
Being a pretty girl doesn’t get you that far. I don’t just mean a girl who happens to be pretty. I mean a girl trying to make it almost entirely on being pretty. A girl putting herself out there, saying, “I’ve noticed I’m kind of pretty!” More
