James Franco‘s Vice review of The Great Gatsby begs the question: which awkward, vaguely applicable sex act from high school were you reminded of? More
Anticipation for Karl Lagerfeld‘s Chanel film, Once Upon A Time, has been building ever since the project and its star, Keira Knightley, were announced a few months ago. After a lovely trailer was released in April, we have been increasingly excited — Knightley looks magic and the clothing (obviously) looks wonderful. However, I must admit: even in all its prettiness, the film is a bit awkward.
Also, after watching, please let me know if you giggled as hard as I did at Knightley’s facial expression at 1:46. More
We have previously established that Tiffany’s The Great Gatsby-inspired collection is incredible, but for most of us, obtaining any of that gorgeous jewelry is quite the pipe dream. The kind of people who could afford such beautiful baubles, bangles and beads are people who are famous and wealthy like, oh, I don’t know, movie stars? More
When he’s not hating things or judging whore contests, Karl Lagerfeld does things. Many things, in fact! Being the creative director of Chanel likely gives one numerous things to do. One of those things may include directing a short film about said fashion house’s founder, Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel. As we reported earlier, the project will star Keira Knightley as Coco Chanel. Judging by the new preview of “Once Upon A Time…,” this was an excellent choice. More
For the past week, the TriBeCa Film Festival has been going strong — and that includes its red carpet. Since famous people love getting themselves all sorts of dressed up for any event they will likely be photographed at, the festival’s red carpet held plenty of lovely, weird and fantastic looks. Naturally, there are a couple rather awful ones, but we’ll let you judge that for yourself… More

There is an early kodachrome film from 1922 right here, and a lady in it is “vamping!” Watching the actress in this, I keep thinking of Norma Desmond’s statement that, back in the days of silent film, “we didn’t need dialogue, we had faces.” More
Consider this a prequel to the inevitable angry mini-mob that will be the British royal family if a film is made about Kate Middleton and Prince William anytime soon. More

Today is Ashley Cardiff’s birthday. Please see the cake above (for someone named Emma) to understand how tasty an event this is. No? You are not eating cake? This is boring for you? Fortunately, I have some movie trivia, and also a fun party game involving Nazis. More
You’ve seen a lot of her recently.
I’ve always liked Sofia Coppola. Whether that’s because people say I kind of look like her or because I cried at the end of Lost In Translation or both, I’m not sure. Anyway, as we told you earlier, she married Phoenix front man Thomas Mars in an intimate ceremony at the Coppola family villa in Bernalda, Italy over the weekend (oh, to have a family villa), and I wish them nothing but the best. Unlike Kim Kardashian, she did not go the classy route and sell the exclusive right to publish the pictures to People for $2.5 million, but luckily for those with an unhealthy Coppola fixation, there were some paps hiding out in the bushes. Here are a few of their snaps. More
