Every now and again you see a fashion magazine that reminds you how vile and obvious most of them look. For Dansk‘s 10th anniversary issue, the Danish publication ran two distinct, striking covers. More
Okay, we promise this is our last 2011 round-up (it is, after all, 2012). We’ve already sifted through the best red carpet looks of last year, its most controversial advertisements, the best and worst dressed and the most annoying… now we must celebrate all of its best fashion models. This year saw Karlie Kloss shoot for the title of supermodel, Crystal Renn land her first (and much-deserved) Vogue cover, the startling debut of Saskia de Brauw, the rise of Arizona Muse, the continuing reign of Freja Beha Erichsen and the all-out domination of Andrej Pejic. Check out these and more of the year’s top models, then tell us your favorite. More
So, here’s a weird one: we were so distracted by the spectacular runway set and the exceptionally lovely clothes that we didn’t notice a bizarre little detail at Chanel… Subtly affixed to the otherwise pristine faces on the runway were little pearls, below lips and on noses, along the ears and at the eyebrow. Like piercings. Or moles…? More
Not really. But Florence Welch was there. And she performed a song while standing on a clam shell! Like the Birth of Venus, only with expensive shoes and some shit. More
Elizabeth Olsen, the littlest Olsen, has caused quite a stir on the festival circuit with her reportedly game changing performance in that movie with the relentlessly alliterative title, Martha Marcy May Marlene. Subsequently, she landed editorials in both W and Nylon (+Nylon‘s cover) in both publications’ October issues. Check out how dramatically different she’s depicted (see that?) across the two. More
Pop Magazine is pretty well known for getting artsy with its covers. So it makes sense that for their twelve cover extravaganza this September, the good folks at Pop would want to get at least one bona fide artist involved. The artist they chose was Marina Abramovic, whose insane stunts and unflinching creative sincerity have made her one of the best known artists of her generation. They also feature Georgia Jagger and Freja Beha Erichsen, because why not? More
Maybe Freja’s been the face of Chanel for one season too many. More

Karl Lagerfeld loves making short films in support of his various fashion endeavors. The following is one he made for the Chanel Resort 2012 collection, starring supes like Chanel-face Freja Beha, Bianca Balti and the amazing Kristen McMenamy, his muse the Lady Amanda Harlech, and a host of male supers too: Brad Kroenig, Mark Vanderloo and (of course) Baptiste Giabiconi. It’s almost thirty minutes in total, but who doesn’t have thirty minutes to spare for all those beautiful people? …Okay, if you don’t, you can watch the first few minutes which feature McMenamy as a wealthy lady with a raging temper. The one and only Gisele did her best Brigitte Bardot for the May 2011 cover of Brazilian Elle. Gisele looks like a supermodel, unsurprisingly, but the big hair x dark nylons x ’60s beauty x mouth open suggestively thing is so overdone. I mean, as recently as March, Freja Beha turned up on Vogue Brasil looking like this: More
Here’s Danish beauty Freja Beha reminding us why she’s a “capital S” Supermodel (and longterm Chanel face) on the March 2011 cover of Vogue Brasil. Freja–who’s usually styled to play up her boyish, nearly androgynous good looks–rocks sultry leopard print and bombshell make-up for photographer Henrique Gandre. More
