We’re tired of talking about Adam Levine. More
Topic: Grace Coddington
We here at The Gloss like to talk about how awesome Vogue creative director Grace Coddington is as a person, but a quick search reveals that we haven’t explicitly made a point of showing you very much of her actual fashion editing work. Which is a shame, because it is great! For the January issue of US Vogue, The Cod enlisted Steven Klein to photograph models Carolyn Murphy and Karen Elson wearing colorful spring 2013 get-ups as they wandered through various bizarre, retro-futuristic scenarios. The resulting editorial feels odd, retro, glamorous and modern, all at the same time. Maybe fashion can be art, after all. More
Grace Coddington knows more about everything than you do — well, this is speculation, but it seems fitting. More

i-D Magazine has put out eight winter covers featuring a mixture of models and entertainers, as is their wont, and most of them are pretty cool. Lena Dunham, Cara Delevigne (pictured) and Neneh Cherry all try their hand at the magazine’s signature winky face. But which cover is the coolest? I’m so glad you asked. Come along with me on a multimedia journey to the top of this virtual pile of magazines. More
The latest issue of American Vogue gives us a sneak peek into Vogue creative director Grace Coddington‘s memoir, and from what I’ve read of it so far, it’s absolutely fascinating. It starts with Grace leaving her home in Wales at age 17 to go to London and be a model in 1958(!), and goes on to detail many stories of the naughty, bohemian, fun life she had there, St. Tropez, and elsewhere. It also contains many surprising facts. Here are six of them (all taken from the excerpt), plus the great vintage photos from Grace’s life that Vogue included with it. If the rest of the book is as good as this part, I’m going to burn through it in a week. More
God, she is such a classic 1960′s beauty. More
U.S. Vogue creative director Grace Coddington has been beautiful for longer than you’ve been alive. This is a fact. Even after she left modeling to pursue a career in media, cameras just loved to look at her. For a few years, one of those cameras belonged to her (now ex) husband Willie Christie, and his talented eye certainly did her justice. An upcoming by-appointment-only art show of Christie’s work at London’s Ivy Club features photos he took of her over 35 years ago that are just now seeing the light of day for the first time(!) Here are a few of them; check out Vogue‘s website to see the rest. More

Yesterday’s Candy magazine shoot featuring drag-versions of US Vogue power duo Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington reminded me of past images wherein models were styled to look like designers (Lagerfeld, of course), editors (Anna) or other major models (Kate! Linda!). Have a look at some of our favorites in the gallery. More
Dressing up as Anna and Grace isn’t new for fashion: Karen Elson did a convincing Grace impression in US Vogue a while back and Snejana Onopka did an uncanny Anna in French Vogue, too. But in Candy magazine–”the world’s first so-called ‘transversal style magazine’ “–a different kind of mannequin got in on the fun… Another shot after the jump.
