Katie Holmes-like figure is on the October cover of Harper’s Bazaar Russia, but I’m not convinced they didn’t just paint a picture of Katie Holmes because they couldn’t get the real one for a photoshoot. But whether or not they started with real photos of her, the level of Photoshop abuse is truly surreal. They painted fake shadows all over the place and make her skin look like plastic, while somehow also managing to make her look older in the process. If I were Katie Holmes, I’d be pissed! More »

’90s pop-ska powerhouse No Doubt is getting ready to release their first album in over a decade, and you know what that means: lots and lots of photos of Gwen Stefani in magazines!  Her latest appearance comes courtesy of Harper’s Bazaar, which could have hired a more interesting photographer than Uncle Terry. However, I’m willing to semi-forgive them because the clothes she wears in the shoot are perfect, and because I love Gwen Stefani in that intense, enduring, and slightly irratonal way you love an artist who meant a lot to you when you were 11 and just getting into music. The accompanying profile doesn’t reveal much we didn’t already know about Gwen, but it’s worth a read anyway if you are obsessed with her. Which I am. More »
