It’s officially spring, y’all! Birds are chirping, buds are opening, and today was the very first day this year I ventured outside without any fabric covering my legs. (The bottom two-thirds, anyway; it’s not leotard weather yet.) And it will grow even springier next month, which magazines shall celebrate with various spring-themed spreads! As a sucker for both spring and flowers, I do not tire of these kinds of photos, especially when they feature cool people like Karen Elson. She’s best known outside the fashion world as Jack White‘s ex-wife, but she’s also a musician in her own right, as well as a great model who’s been working in the industry for some time. And age 34, she’s getting more work than ever. This is hardly over the hill, but it’s still nice to see in such an age-ist industry. Click through to get psyched for spring by looking at Karen Elson wearing pretty clothes and flowers. More

Q: Is there a baby monkey?
A: Of course there is a baby monkey. More
You may have noticed, it’s been a very Taylor Swift year around here. If all the pert, bland pretty pretty princess-ing about was starting to bore you, good news: you’re not alone. Apparently Taylor Swift is real bad at moving copies of the magazines she covers. More
In the April issue of Harper’s Bazaar, former child star Selena Gomez can be seen “growing up her image,” as they say, in a very leggy editorial shot by our old pal Terry Richardson. At best, Uncle Terry’s “mainstream” photos look like perfectly serviceable fashion photography, and at worst, they look super stiff and boring, and both of those styles are showcased here. Things are further complicated by Photoshop abuse in some of the pictures. But Selena Gomez is a lovely young lady, so her cute/sexy/charismatic personality shines through nonetheless. I am even willing to overlook the fact that she claims it’s hard for her to get dates in the accompanying article. More
Hint: It’s not Kathy Griffin, Kate Bosworth or Hillary Clinton. It is also not Emily Deschanel, much to my surprise. More
When shooting Drew Barrymore for the cover editorial of their upcoming “Big Fashion Issue,”Harper’s Bazaar made an interesting choice: they only showed the very top of her. This can mean just one thing: Drew Barrymore is super fat now! Okay, so I’m mostly kidding, but wouldn’t it make more sense for the Big Fashion Issue to photograph Drew wearing some awesome head-to-toe ensembles? I know she just had a baby, but she is probably still thinner than most people, and I bet she would have looked just fine in the clothes. At least she looks nice from the shoulders up. What she looks like below that, we will never know. More
This is delightful. More
We here at TheGloss are pretty big fans of Anne Hathaway. She’s talented, typically well-spoken and undeniably pretty. While I myself do not enjoy all the movies she has been in (ahem), I do think she has successfully achieved some pretty fantastic roles, too. Plus, she photographs gorgeously and is always recognizable as herself in portraits. But this February’s cover of the UK edition of Harper’s Bazaar sort of irks me. More
Fortunately, it seems they skipped out on the “weird creepily Photoshopped January covers” thing that their edition down under seems to have opted for. Good job, España edition, at ringing in our new year with a good ol’ dose of fashionably nude. More

I will give you five guesses as to which totally unrecognizable starlet is on the January cover of Harper’s Bazaar Australia, because this is a hard one. More
For a long time now, many people on the internet have debated whether or not Taylor Swift is the Worst. More
The November issue of Harper’s Bazaar features a cover story on Nicole Kidman that serves to remind us that she’s not just some Botox-ed ice queen, but a thoughtful, mature actress with intelligent things to say. It’s accompanied by a garish editorial shot by (guess who?) Terry Richardson, who puts the classy 45-year-old lady in the unlikely environs of a monster truck rally. Whether he did this as a commentary on high vs. low culture, a visual hint that she’s still young at heart, or simply the logical end product of the mind-blowing-ly creative notion that girls look hot next to cars is up to you, the viewer, to decide. A Katie Holmes-like figure is on the October cover of Harper’s Bazaar Russia, but I’m not convinced they didn’t just paint a picture of Katie Holmes because they couldn’t get the real one for a photoshoot. But whether or not they started with real photos of her, the level of Photoshop abuse is truly surreal. They painted fake shadows all over the place and make her skin look like plastic, while somehow also managing to make her look older in the process. If I were Katie Holmes, I’d be pissed! More
Here she is in high school. Her fashion sense has, I think, become more pronounced since then. More
