Gallery: The Top 10 Little White Dresses Of New York Fashion Week

Spring is reliably the time for two things: floral prints and airy dresses in white. True to form, NYFW saw no shortage of prints–of every kind–and plenty of the LWD (the LBD’s humidity-friendlier cousin). Here’s the 10 on our wishlist, from Gatsby dreams at Ralph Lauren to draping at Doo.Ri to minimalism at Helmut Lang… and this razor sharp number above from Cushnie et Ochs. More »

Shopping Guide: Open-Knit Sweaters To Look (And Stay) Cool This Summer

Okay, I recognize we’re in the middle of a brutal heat wave, but… summer knits are awesome! First off, they’re excellent toppers for sundresses on breezy summer evenings. The Myth of Pairing High and Low

The Myth of Pairing High and Low

It seems like every couple weeks I see a fashion story about how such and such an It Girl has a simple secret to her fabulous style: she mixes vintage YSL and downtown fashion like H&M, Zara, and Top Shop. She shows up to events in Helmut Lang leather jackets paired with Urban Outfitters jeans and isn’t that remarkable? Every time I see one of these stories, I wonder: is pairing high and low all that remarkable when the sky’s the limit on high and you occasionally toss in a plain white tank from Gap? Then I wonder, what do publicists do all day? More »
