While we are well aware that fashion isn’t really the main focus of Spike TV’s Guys Choice Awards, we still have to admit: its red carpet was pretty awful. The multitudes of short, black, leopard-print dresses, the ill-fitting suits, the superfluous lace, the cutouts — oh, the cutouts.
To be fair, this is exactly what one should expect from an awards show with categories like “Most Unstoppable Jock,” “Hottest A(l)lison” and “Jean-Claude Gahd Dam.” Come glance at Jennifer Aniston looking like Ke$ha, good looking guys wearing brightly-colored suits and both of Jessica Alba‘s rad dresses. It’s time, everyone. The 2013 Met Gala–or, the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala, if you’re nasty–is upon us. While we have really, really mixed feelings about this year’s theme–Punk: Chaos to Couture–and we know most of the attendees are nervous about committing (despite our helpful styling suggestions!) this is still the biggest red carpet event of the year. Expect one or two unforgettable looks, lots of playing it safe, some real style, some real glamour and, hopefully, a whole lot of beautiful disasters.
So, per usual, we’ll be updating live throughout the red carpet. Come back and refresh often–expect new looks here every few minutes!
Let’s do this. More
#Coachella is finished. The two-weekend long corporate music festival that draws rich pretend-bohemians from all over the country is, mercifully, over and done with until next year. Last weekend’s celebrity fashion show was predictably ridiculous, this weekend’s was actually a little more tame. Perhaps the attendees were exhausted from toggling to flash the peace sign while trying not to spill beer on their $2000 handbags?
Until next year. More

The challenge in writing about the Kid’s Choice Awards–held over the weekend in LA–is that 1) we don’t mock children on the internet (even when their stylists had a big, dumb field day) and 2) we’re getting to the age where we have no fucking clue who half these people are.
Ahead, we give it out best shot with Katy Perry, Kristen Stewart, Jessica Alba, Johnny Depp and Ke$ha, sweet Ke$ha. More
Jessica Alba is an overall unobtrusive star, both on and off the red carpet, but this was not the case for the past week. Several ill-fitting or oversize garments along with a couple weird bottoms are making me wonder what issues (I daresay Albatrosses?) are going down in the style sect of her brain that are making her make such peculiar choices. All right. We brought you live coverage of last night’s Golden Globe Awards, we brought you our ten best dressed and our ten worst dressed (still reeling, Halle Berry)…
Now, we’d like to level the playing field and just focus on the shoulders up. Last night, there was some really amazing hair and makeup on the red carpet–and some not amazing hair and makeup. This is our rundown of the best and worst of the Golden Globes beauty. More
The 70th annual Golden Globe Awards took place last night and hopefully you enjoyed our knee jerk reactions to the (mostly boring) red carpet. Unfortunately, there weren’t a lot of stand out looks last night, so consider this best dressed list… graded on a curve.
Still, red carpet reliables like Julianne Moore and Anne Hathaway looked grand, while surprise turns from Olivia Munn, Lucy Liu and Stacy Keibler kept things interesting.
…Mildly, at least. More
When Tom had a little rough streak after Penelope Cruz allegedly failed to convert to Scientology, the church supposedly started holding auditions for new spouses, as we reported a few months ago. This would’ve been weird in and of itself, but the Tom Cruise wife auditions were held under creepy false pretenses which makes it fifty times more unsettling — and, according to a new book, involved hella famous actresses. Famous people lead cool lives where they don’t have to do anything ever but they have millions of dollars. In order to fill their days (and provide some semblance of time) they dress up in elaborate, nonsensical Halloween costumes (they … More
Most celebrities want to attribute their ageless beauty to “good genes.” …Not Kelly Ripa, though. More
The biggest red carpet event of the year–the 2012 Met Gala–happened last night to celebrate the 0pening of “Schiaparelli And Prada: Impossible Conversations.” Unsurprisingly, old school Prada muses (like Milla Jovovich and Angela Lindvall) came out of the woodwork. As for the fashion? Sparkly, sheer and extremely unflattering were the orders of the day.
…But! Ugly dresses were the least of their problems, because apparently every good makeup artist in New York was off for the night: lots of hair dye experimentations (we hardly recognized you, Jamie King and Jessica Stam), black lipstick (Lana Del Rey, Kate Bosworth, Camilla Belle), harsh brows (Kate Upton) and whatever happened to Mary-Kate Olsen. Look through the gallery and then we must discuss! More
This morning, we learned Megan Fox got the French Grazia cover, with some of her back tattoos stripped away (so as not to interfere with cover type, commenters suggest). Last week, Vogue was criticized by straight-laced style bloggers for not erasing Charlize Theron‘s tiny ankle tattoo. This got us thinking: which celebrity tattoos would we like to Photoshop away forever? Here they are, including Fred Durst‘s loving tribute to Kurt Cobain… Dennis Rodman‘s lady with a giganatic penis…Amber Portwood‘s floating baby head… and so many more. More
