Some people are at NYFW to look at the clothes. Other people are at NYFW to look at the people looking at the clothes. And sometimes we have no idea why the eff someone is at NYFW (Hi, Jared Fogle!). Check out the most star-studded front rows of the first day of Fashion week. More

Celebrities love fashion week. Not just because they get wined and dined, sit front row, skip all the lines and leave loaded down with freebies–but because they get press, for the simple act of wearing clothes. Their outfits don’t have to be inventive, interesting or even stylish–if they’re famous and anywhere within a stone’s throw of Linc Center or Milk, they’ll get photographed. For dayz.

There’s a whole slew of terribly stylish women we may have never discovered if it wasn’t for the advent of street style blogs. While Elle‘s Kate Lanphear is beloved for her structured rock’n roll aesthetic and Vogue Nippon’s Anna Dello Russo is known for wearing head-to-toe couture hallucinations, former Pop editor-at-large and fellow street style (/fellow blogger) darling Shala Monroque has a downright uncanny way with color. Thomas Whiteside shot Leah de Wavrin in a bunch of (seemingly) effortless looks, recalling a Hitchcock blonde at the beach. More

(Incidentally – there’s some debate over whether Liz Lemon from 30 Rock is stylish, but I still think she’s really rocking the cardigans). More
Tibi just rolled out some really adorable stationary saluting the great street style of fashion types like Italian Elle‘s Eva Fontanelli, Teen Vogue‘s Mary Kate Steinmiller and (hero status!) Elle’s Kate Lanphear. That’s Kate above and check out Teen Vogue‘s Jane Keltner after the jump. More
