The 2013 Cannes Film Festival is occurring as we speak, though it occurred some over the weekend, too. Here’s what all those fancy people wore on the red carpet. Expect Jennifer Lawrence, Carey Mulligan, Jessica Biel, Rooney Mara, a slew of models and a couple good old Fashion Disasters. More

It’s time, everyone. The 2013 Met Gala–or, the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala, if you’re nasty–is upon us. While we have really, really mixed feelings about this year’s theme–Punk: Chaos to Couture–and we know most of the attendees are nervous about committing (despite our helpful styling suggestions!) this is still the biggest red carpet event of the year. Expect one or two unforgettable looks, lots of playing it safe, some real style, some real glamour and, hopefully, a whole lot of beautiful disasters.
So, per usual, we’ll be updating live throughout the red carpet. Come back and refresh often–expect new looks here every few minutes!

At the 2012 Critics Choice Awards, just like in Raiders of the Lost Arc, some celebrities chose well. And others chose… poorly. Very stiff competition in the Fashion Disasters category this week. What with the recent Chanel-sponsored event at the MoMA the other day, we saw all kinds of bad decisions. Just before that, we saw another fancy party at a museum, with mostly mixed looks. But! There’s also a wild card in play this week. Let’s check out the competition, shall we? More
Inspired because Lars Von Trier was “tired of making comedies” Melancholia is a terribly good looking movie about the end of the world. And wow, Kirsten Dunst looks spectacular in it. She works that wedding dress like it was some … More
Over the weekend, LA’s Museum of Contemporary Art held its annual gala, attracting all kinds of fancy people in pricey dresses. The world’s most famous performance artist Marina Abramovic took the creative reigns for the evening, which amounted to guests wearing white lab coats, human heads serving as table centerpieces and cakes that looked like naked people. Performance art. Anyway, see what Gwen Stefani, Nicole Richie, Rachel Zoe, Dita von Teese, Kirsten Dunst and Abramovic herself wore (under their lab coats). More

Last night saw the 2011 Costume Institute Gala, the focus of which was the life and work of the late Alexander McQueen. In terms of fashion, the Gala is the red carpet event of the year. Thanks to McQueen’s influence, it was also pretty exciting. Here are the evening’s most regrettable outfits. More
